Kershaw Link Review

The Kershaw Link

“Quality U.S.-Made Knife With Modern Features At Affordable Price”

“The Missing Link”

As many knife enthusiast or every day carry fans have come to realize, quality U.S.-made knives with modern features rarely come at a price consumers can afford. Kershaw has defied these odds by creating the Kershaw Link, a knife that offers affordability, quality and great features for a modern EDC knife.

Features of the Kershaw Link Include:

  • SpeedSafe® assisted opening, built-in Flipper
  • Reversible engraved tip-up aluminum pocket clip and lanyard hole
  • Machined aluminum handle, Gray, engraved United States flag
  • Steel: 420HC (56-59 HRC), black-oxide BlackWash™ finish

Kershaw Link Specs:

  • Blade length: 3.25 in. (8.4 cm)
  • Closed length: 4.4 in. (11.2 cm)
  • Overall length: 7.6 in. (19.3 cm)
  • Weight: 4.8 oz. (136.1 g)

Presenting itself as a unique tool,

The Kershaw Link features Kershaw’s signature “BlackWash” finish, giving the blade a beautiful worn look mixed with a sleek, matte grey, machined aluminum handle. Adorning the side of the handle is an engraved United States flag, adding spirit and character to the aggressive looking tool. It almost seems to say, “Yes… I am American.”

The Kershaw Link also features a reversible pocket clip and lanyard hole allowing the knife to be carried anyway that suits you. Right-handed or left-handed, it does not matter. When closed, the blade tip faces the pocket clip allowing the knife to be drawn in the ready position. Under the blade’s cosmetics is 420HC steel which is a common steel in the commercial knife industry. It can be sharpened to a fine edge and a mirror finish. At 56-59HRC the 420HC steel has good corrosion resistance and fair toughness.

To top it off,

The Kershaw Link features an assisted opening, creating quick and easy one handed deployment by simply pushing the built-in flipper on the bottom of the blade. Once opened, the flipper aligns with the knife’s quillon and adds depth, creating an extra measure of safety by preventing your hand from sliding onto the blade. The knife also has a liner lock securely fixing the blade when open.

Kershaw also offers a limited lifetime warranty from factory defects and will sharpen any Kershaw blade sent to them free of charge. If you happen to break your blade Kershaw will replace it for $10. Yes, you can use your knife as a hammer if you want to. Coming in at a light 4.8 oz. the Kershaw Link is a great Every Day Carry knife for the value. A modern tool in both function and operation. It can be a great addition to your pocket for all your daily utility knife needs.
